Two health.mil stories receive MarCom awards

Two of Laura Stassi’s stories for the Military Health System website health.mil have received recognition from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, an international organization founded in 1995.

Laura’s story on talking with wounded warriors and their loved ones about physical intimacy received the MarCom Gold Award.  The story was first published on health.mil in November 2017 and was picked up by several media outlets, including Military One Click and the Daily Defense News blog.

Laura’s story on deep vein thrombosis, first published on health.mil in April, received an Honorable Mention. This story was picked up by almost a dozen outside media outlets including Stars & Stripes.

Marcom awards honor excellence in marketing and communication. Each year, approximately 6,000 print and digital entries are submitted for award consideration from dozens of countries.

Dating While Gray Chosen for Podcast Incubator

Laura Stassi is thrilled to announce she’s one of five participants in The Pod Shop, a podcast incubator led by Washington, D.C., NPR member station WAMU. Through The Pod Shop, Laura is learning how to turn her writing project Dating While Gray into a podcast. Laura Stassi’s Amazon Author page is now live. Under the byline Laura S. Jeffrey, Laura is the author of almost two dozen nonfiction books for young readers (Enslow Publishers) including two rock band biographies, Def Leppard and Pink Floyd.
